Wii U is the second best selling console in Japan this week!

As we reported, the release of Pikmin 3 in Japan boosted sales of the Wii U.

Check out the amount of consoles sold in Japan this week:

3DS LL – 29,594 

Wii U – 22,199

PlayStation Vita – 15,662 

3DS – 13,841 

PlayStation 3 – 12,698 

PSP – 5,830 

Wii – 1,434 

Xbox 360 – 393 

Now, compare this with the sales from the previous week:

3DS LL – 29,716 

PlayStation Vita – 20,776 

3DS – 14,506

PlayStation 3 – 11,683 

Wii U – 8,251 (7,060)

PSP – 5,768 (6,492)

Wii – 1,334 (1,338)

Xbox 360 – 313 (330)

These numbers provide the best evidence that the Wii U only need good games to sell better.

With the releases of the the coming months, as Mario Kart 8, Zelda Wind Waker HD and Super Smash Bros. among others, the situation of the Wii U should improve even more.
